Founded in 1888, Marlborough has established itself as one of the finest courses in Wiltshire. Set on the edge of the historic town of Marlborough, it offers tree-lined fairways on the front nine holes followed by a back nine played on 120-year-old, wonderfully springy turf. The unique clubhouse sits at the high point of the course with a bar, restaurant and veranda on the first floor providing the very best opportunity to enjoy the panoramic scenery.
The course has been the venue for the Wiltshire Professional Championships since 1992 but provides a fair test for golfers of all abilities. It is built on well-drained downland allowing play all year round and rarely closes but has much more variety to offer than the traditional downland course. We have a top-class greenkeeping team. Regular players and visitors have commented on the exceptional quality of the course presentation.
At 6,444 yards from the white tees, 6,200 from the gold tees and 5600 from the purple tees), the Marlborough course is a fair challenge for low handicappers and less experienced players alike.
